I hope you like this vid.Notes by Mark the Bands website: I was originally asked to contribute to an Imaginary Records compilation called '1967' the idea being that those invited chose a song that they listened to or liked a lot from that year. When I thought about it I realised that at that age, seven years, I was listening a great deal to John Barry and I've remained a great fan of his over the following years. I was worried because the song is a real 'Croon' and I am a heavy smoker, I imagined the results would be awful, but I have to say, proudly, that I had it down in two takes and when I played it someone once they were convinced it was Almond, which was a great compliment. The compilation came out but I don't think it sold that well and proved difficult for people to find, which is a shame because it's very diverse and interesting. I decided then to close Zima with the track, if but for no other reason, to show people that despite the ranting for which I'm known, I can actually sing a bit :-)

  • tx for sharing this TC73. I'm amazed you were able to find it.

  • Oh yes, Burgess can sing alright. Saw him live on Friday in Manchester and the man is a legend. This covers proves how truly versatile he is, great cover of a great song. Thanks for posting.

  • Think this is a great version, ace vocals and brilliant musical arrangement.

Nice one, been looking for this tune for ages.

  • The voice overs are cool and so is the haiku, used as a chorus, at the end of the song. This is 60s retro-chic!
