If you can't prove or provide a proof, or a solid demonstration of why we ought to pursue science as if no intelligent causation exists, then you need to explain why we must rule out any possibility that intelligent causation exists when framing our hypotheses.

Now this explanation is going to need to be really good, given the spectacular levels of functional complexity we find in living systems. If it's not, you are just going to look like a closed minded materialist defending his dogma.

That's as pitiful as the 'prove god version XYZ does not exist'. We don't prove negatives. The *burden* of proof is always on the shoulders of the one making the positive claim. This is logic 101. This is science 101.

I've chosen a sandcastle as an example of something inexplicable within the strict naturalistic paradigm. I chose a sandcastle, because I'm guessing you play with sand a lot and probably built one recently.You'll know that sandcastles don't arise from earthquakes, sandstorms, wave action and chance etc. I know you would be upset if, after all your hard work building the thing, your mom refused to believe you, giving the credit instead to some as yet unknown combination of chance and natural law

No. I've already given examples of some sciences that already deal with intelligent causes, and you have given no reason for the arbitrary restriction of origins science to natural causes, because there is none.
