So you are not a repub by name, but you are in views. McCain is not moderate, he was moderate 8 years ago when he was a "maverick". Now he's remade himself in true pandering fashion, flip flopping like a flounder in the process. Ahh, but you are ignorant for ignoring the fact that for 6 years it was a Republican controlled congress. You are ignoring the fact that, now that Dems have a 1 person majority, Republicans are on course for a record amount of filibusters, blocking legislation and action. Remember when Rush railed against the filibusters by Democrats? Why don't you quit being so biased and look at the facts!

hindubeef, first your putting words into Obama's mouth and now mine. I never stated AK-47 ownership is "criminal" - to the contrary I stated the opposite by arguing that they should not be leg illegal. Over 2,000 Felons in Florida were given gun permits last year - but that point is mute - you won't accept the reality that all felons were once law-abiding gun owners and their crimes usually start with guns. People are more like to get shot by some hot-headed person they know then a sniper.

Forgot to mention - the teacher/students could stop the shootings if they had guns themselves and It has been prevented because of this in several schools. Yes when guns get in the hands of people who are demented in someway like that it gives a bad name to guns in all forms. The "anti-gun extremists" want to ban video games with guns. If a demented person is going to kill people they don't need a gun- if they were banned the could still get a gun then what are we supposed to do to defend?

erm.. so are you avoiding my question regarding obama and his stance on 2nd amendment after seeing his voting record? What have the NRA fear mongers done with it?- Please inform me. In my opinion, it seem's that the right to bear arms is infringed more and more every day (with the exception of the recent ruling in D.C.). Less blatant accusations without backing them up e.g. my "pro-gun extremism/bias". I'm open to information while giving my critical input. I like arguments not insults.

Regarding your assumption that "fun" is the only aspect for why guns are allowed in this great nation.... You're trying to make my statement of the Ak-47 being fun criminal. Yes- it's very fun to shoot (is that better?). It's also capable of defending against psychos whether they are armed with knives, fists, or a gun. It's capable of hunting/controlling game animals- am I criminal because I like to eat wild game?

So you agree that obama is anti 2nd amendment? Ok lets see your new argument. The supreme court recently had a ruling regarding the definition of the 2nd amendment in favor of the individual right to bear arms. The assault rifle ban in some dem majority states took place on how the gun looked. AK-47 looked evil therefore it was banned. My point- a gun is a gun and it's ridiculous to ban a gun merely on looks.

Hindubeef, your thinking is simplistic and therefor dangerous - I clearly stated that the founding fathers didn't have in mind AK-47s when writing the 2nd. Knowing that some perverts would get off on being snipers and having "fun" with their guns, they clearly stated it all within one sentence and in the context of a WELL REGULATED militia - you prove their point - millions of perverts find hoping in bed with 17 year olds is "fun" also, but "fun" alone doesn't make something good for society.

It didn't let me reply- maybe because I used a web address. Anyways here's how to get to a list of obama's voting record regarding the 2nd amendment. Go to google,type in "obama's anti gun record" and it's the first result. A gun is a gun- same result so it's ridiculous to ban guns like the "AK-47". Have you ever shot one? It's fun. Also the places with the most gun restrictions like chicago/la/ny have higher crime rates then places with w/o those gun restrictions.

acseeley, I'm sorry that you were "surrounded by republicans" while in service.  My son, dad and grandfather served in the army and they're democrats, as is my husband, who is a distant cousin of Ronald Reagan. As for Olbermann, it shouldn't matter if he's liberal or not - What matters is if he is telling the truth. For every lie that others are hard-pressed to find from Olbermann, I can list 3 from Bill O'Reilly and Rush Limbaugh. Books have been written about their many lies & distortions.
