Montreal Lightning 2011_07_21

A lightning storm as seen from Downtown Montreal, 2011_07_21, 9:15 PM. The location is the Center for Canadian Architecture lookout, in western downtown Montreal, Canada.

I came out of the Alexis Nihon Plaza @ 9:00 PM and saw this huge cloud to the south still lit up from the setting sun with considerable lightning but no sound of thunder at all. I realised that due to the direction of the cloud and speed, I probably had time to make it home and grab my camera and head over to the lookout to film. I make the location of the storm system to be over the Richelieu river valley, Quebec and northern Lake Champlain NY./VT.
