They won't let them put up a screen. That was proposed when this all started but it wasn't even considered. There was no "deal" to be made. The farmers lost their water and in turn lost their jobs and are now at the mercy of the state. This is a dangerous thing because of the implications. Big Brother was experimenting with lives to see how much power their could weild. These people are dependent on the gov for everything now... it's dispicable and could easily be resolved. God help us all.

Actually, go back even farther. It was the destruction of Romes' water supply that finally brought down the empire. This in conjuction with the loss of the territories in the northern part of africa "the breadbasket of rome" that brought down the greatest civilization on earth. Sound familiar?
