i did what you said and now ive been stuck at the apple load screen with a spinning fan under it for the longest time. did that every happen to you? please help! cause i am selling it tomorrow and i just wanted to delete everything off of it. i havent touched this itouch in forever and it hasnt been updated so that might be the problem but im not so sure.

@MUGKID I would say give it a few hours to be sure especially if you have alot of stuff on it. After that, if it really is going and nothing is happening, i would say try going to an Apple store if you can. Otherwise, its turn off and back on and hope nothing happens which I wouldn't recommend.

@414MILboy Im not 100% sure what you mean. You had music on the device and deleted everything? If that then the music is gone forever and you need to put more in from your computer via itunes or the other 3rd party aps.
