Here's a quick look at using MightyBands for wing chun-specific resistance training. MightyBands allow for a range of motion that machines and free weights just can't do. Wing Chun kung fu has such an interesting range of motion that's not found in the more common styles of martial arts, putting MightyBands to the test - and it passes with flying colours. • @Compadect - I would recommend not using the MightyBands until you are able to kick high enough without it. Work on both flexibility and leg strength by doing the kicks slowly. Good idea to consult your wing chun teacher too. have fun! BTW, kicking high is not a measure of wing chun skill.

  • i wouldn't say we would want to avoid resistance TRAINING...resisting the opponent, being stuff, etc..yes i agree with. But the aspect of resistance training, and it's health benefits, as well as it's addition of power to your strikes are beneficial to wing tsun. thanks for dropping by1

  • Yea, it's better to use these on a standard door. Luckily the frame is strong enough for the resistance I was using.

  • @Grasshopper2point0 I disagree. Flexible tendons enable EFFICIENT delivery of power.

  • 0:54 i can see when u raise your legs is high, how can i do it because can raise my leg low.. pls reply asap

  • @alesandros 356,wing chun is a close range combat style, another words if u aint close enough we would nt charge in as we use the opponents energy against them,on the other hand if u were close enough we still wouldnt charge in a simple step forward with a shoulder barge would see u on the floor ;)

  • Sweet

  • very cool great tool i see how it can build power also it can adapt to any style also kicks i think i ll get one

  • Excellent video! I can tell you train in the Leung Ting system your foot work and hand techniques look really sharp despite the resistance. I'm going to have to try this soon! Thanks a lot!

  • @ekie18 so....you think a wc dud would....block such a kick?......I AM SORRY SIR =) but i think you are the one mistaking here

  • @Alesandros356 If your talking about Wing Chun then i think your mistaken about charging our opponents. It's better to defend then attack. I'm not saying any style is better, i just think you have the wrong idea and should be a little more thoughtful when assuming about another fighter or fight style. Let me also say that Words are a better solution.

  • wing tsun guys like to charge into their enemies when they tries to kick them with a roundhouse kick. skilled and strong takewondo duds can make a kick with equiels to drive into a solid wall with 60 km/h....if you charged into a dud with a kick like that...he would break his own leg....thumps up for wining without lifting a finger

  • Cool!!

  • Nice video, nice form!

  • Cool video man. I like it. I want to try it myself.

  • i thought we were suppose to avoid resistance? to filch and steal, oh well to each his own.

  • i wouldn't attach these to a glass door

  • oh thats tite

  • That's nice... Very nice!!!
