Thats true and why it is? Because Russian carier was designed to provide air defense cover for the fleet ships while the american ones were designed mainly for support of invading army. Practical difference between this is in the number of aircrafts carried and possible parallel maintenance service of onboard aircrafts. Kuznetsov have far less onboard aircrafts than Nimitz class or Enterprise. Its about world politics. Russia wants only to defend itself while USA wants enforce its politics!

The Sukhoi must be the most rakishly best looking fighter plane in service today. But I dislike how far back the forward Landing Gear is located, it makes the machine ungainly, nose-heavy and unstable when taxying. I also like the elegant raised Bow of the Ship.

@Flankymanga eee err not really. If the USSR had a bigger budget it would've built carriers like the Nimitz class. Unfortunately by the time they were in the carrier race the US was way ahead. Thus pirority was focused on protecting the immediate fleet and important bases. Both the USSR and the USA enforced their politics during the Cold War era, but as history shows enforcing one's politics on another is costly and a really true waste of resources unless you're trying to help/protect.

don't be fooled guys, the Su-33 is quite a bit bigger than the F-18 hornet so it kinda makes this awesome carrier look small

Why do Russian pilots where that orange uniform, I mean they are combat pilots at least something greenish, they look like astronauts. I like the Su-33 alot, no question about it, maybe the paint:)

Because they are NAVY pilots and this heavy suit can protect them for several hours from cold water in case of ejection. And the orange color is more contrasting with blue/grey water then green or grey so it´s better chance to find them :-)
