In a previous blog post, Newton Paskin discussed Flexible Modular Process for Reduced Supply Chain Risk . We received several comments to the post from members of several LinkedIn groups. Newton's response to the following comment can be read in this post: The way I see it most of them agree with the concept. The only one that has somewhat of a disconnect is the first one that mentions kits. However, no one is buying kits. The concept is to manage the design, procurement and manufacturing/transformation processes as a set of sub-assemblies. However, one only takes deliveries of final packaged products. I also agree that not all products can follow this strategy. As we discussed, it has to be designed in accordingly. Most process (chemicals, some foods and similar products) manufacturing will not be suitable for this strategy.
