Uglies is a 2005 science fiction novel by Scott Westerfeld. Set in a future post-scarcity dystopian world in which everyone is turned "Pretty" by extreme cosmetic surgery upon reaching age 16. It tells the story of teenager Tally Youngblood who rebels against society's enforced conformity, after her new found friends Shay and David show her the downsides to becoming a "pretty".

Tally- Kind of , but she should be someone a little uglier, maybe?
Shay- No, her discription in the book is short brown hair and olive skin, not blonde and white.
David- NOOO!! NOT ZACK EFFRON!!
Zane- No, he looks too ugly to be a pretty
Maddy- I actually kind of like your choice for Maddy...
Az- No he is too old looking, you have Maddy who looks like a teen compared to him..
Croy- no.
Dr. Cable- No.. though she is better than Angelina Jolie..

okay these people are supposed to be teenagers not in there mid 20's; i think thats the probably with entertainment today they put people in there mid 20's to play teenagers when teenagers don't look like that but now feel like they should & feel bad about themselves
