I've heard some people say that smoking diminishes your appetite for eating food and might therefore discourage obesity. What do you think ? On the subject of an independent currency, some of us here in the UK are very glad our Pound is free from the European Euro which recently nearly collapsed in Greece and Ireland. South Carolina should perhaps try leaving the Dollar ?

Interesting...I would think the amount of people that would lose their jobs wouldn't be worth it. I used to work security in a hospital and the amount of "medical professionals" that smoked astounded me! Especially doctors, so many doctors smoke and it they fired people from a hospital for smoking they would have to rehire half their staff! I'm sure that I am preaching to the choir here though.

That doesn't seem like it would be legal, assuming they are smoking where no one is around. When I smoke at work I usually go out to my car where no one is around.

I think the main concern is that cigarette smokers are CONSTANTLY taking breaks. I smoke cigars but I dont smoke them daily and dont take breaks from work to smoke. Its almost comical sometimes how many breaks some cigarette smokers take. I wouldnt doubt it if that is one of the main reasons.

Are debt based monetary system is the cause off most off are economic problems. Also that fact that all money is generated by a privately owned bank. That being said, it surprises me they would try to make a new currency as the Constitution explicitly forbids it. If every state had it own currency it would lead to trade wars between the states and a weaker nation overall; and the founding fathers knew this.
