Here's the reason I use the water bath method: I REALLY, REALLY hate it when you get a few rotten/squished/etc. Aris (I know, I'm super picky) I think I'll start using gloves though - I hate what they do to my fingers!

i am eating one right now, haha

Thanks about to do many of them! This will save a LOT of time.

I watched a few dozen clips on de-seeding a pomegranate and this one shows the fastest and easiest way, or so it seems to me.

Growing up I have fond memories of eating pomegranates and have always loved them. I just wish I would have known this method back then, it would have saved me a lot of time!

@Girlgerm If you rinsed the pomegranate in the beginning before you cut it, then it's really up to you. I rinse them, just to keep it cleaner for when I place them into a serving dish. It also helps with seeing if there is any of the yellowish membrane that might fall into the bowl while you are tapping away. Enjoy!

Thanks for the information. We'll have to look into that tool. We found this way much faster than the water bath method. This method is a little messy, but it's faster and your fingers don't come away pruney, especially if you have many to do.
Thanks for your comment and enjoy those delicious pomegranates while they are in season.
