there must be a brightness setting somewhere - can you do anything with the brightness when you upload to your computer??

With the lighting of your video. Is that how dark it realy is in your house? If so you might want to buy some 500 wat work lights at wallie world for about 20 bucks. If this is your cams fault I don't know how to fix that unless you use a sony handy cam.

How can you measure sound quality when you have such crappy headphones? Even the ones that come with the nano are better. Differences in sound quality will be noticed a lot easier if you have high quality earbuds. You can get in-ear headphones from Creative, Sony, or Sennheiser for a low price. And I do have high quality headphones, and the sound card on the new nano seems to be different from that of the 2G since it has a lot better sound quality—better lows and mids, and bass.

You are right! I got better headphones. They still sound very different. The 4g nano sounds so much better than the iPhone
