27 years ago Grace Louma moved to her husband's ancestral home in the most northern district of Uganda, Kaabong.

What she discovered about the way the women lived and were treated, so shocked her, she made a decision that changed her life.

27 years on, Aware Uganda the organisation she founded, despite negligible financial support, is now the focal point of hundreds of women's lives.

Through developing small scale community projects, encouraging education and creating its own micro-finance system, a more caring and empathetic attitude towards women has grown to the betterment of all.

Grace from Kaabong is a small, heart-warming snapshot into the life of Grace and the people she lives with.
