Tight, restrictive fascia and muscles on the palm-side of the hand can cause a lot of restrictions in the fingers and hand. These simple stretches are wonderful for stretching the lumbricals and interosseous muscles of the hand, thereby decreasing pain and stiffness associated with carpal tunnel syndrome, trigger finger and other repetitive strain injuries while increasing the flexibility, strength and dexterity of the fingers, hand and wrist.

  • Wow best strechings ever, I´m a violinist n ´ been looking for streches for quite a while but every one I found was like just a variation to the other, ´till I find yours . Thx so much for your vids!!!

I am glad they have helped! Yes, they are quite a bit different than most stretches which makes them very useful when the muscles in the hands are so restricted.

  • @URehab If u know more stretches, variations or exercises to help opening the knukcles please let me know. Anyway I´m already having a blast with these. Thx ! , keep on!

  • @1analist

I'm glad you are using them as they really stretch in areas that normally don't get stretched. I'll keep on trying to come up with new stretches so people can recover from their injuries faster / easier!

    Great, glad to hear it!

Well, mostly it is a shock to your system. You go from doing nothing to all of a sudden performing very specific isolated stretches. Since this is new, I would only do it every other day and be sure to follow with exercises for the antagonist muscles as this will help them settle down. I would just follow with 3-sets of the basic palm-up isolated Flextend exercise and see how you feel…which should be good!
