This is my Project for Awesome video for 2011. I was going to do one about World Vision again, but I decided last year's video was better than anything I could make this year, and I'd said everything I wanted already.

So instead I chose the Gay Christian Network, which is a much smaller non-profit ministry that works to build bridges between the Christian and LGBT communities.

In a time when gay teen suicide continues to be a major issue in many countries and where gay people in some parts of the world face violence or death at the hands of Christians, GCN remains committed to building a more welcoming church and creating safe spaces for people to get the support they need.

We believe everyone should be free to live out their faith and conscience without fear of harassment or discrimination, and we are fighting to make that happen.

Almost in the same breath that the Bible condemns homosexuality, it condemns most seafood other than fish. Where's your protest against Red Lobster? The Bible also supports slavery. Yet I guarantee you have no problem throwing that outdated tidbit under the bus of modernity. The ban of homosexuality in the Bible is as wrong as its support of slavery. To deny that is a sin not of God, but of humanity. Just as women being man's co-equal partners, & not their property

You're right, slavery was acceptable in the Bible. But the Bible also says that if a master mistreats his/her slaves, that that was a bad thing. The Bible doesn't just say, "Oh, yeah, have a slave, and beat them up when you're done with them." Or whatever. The Bible also says, many times, that as Christians, we should be servants to everyone else. Just look at the time Jesus washed his disciples' feet. He was acting as a servant to them, even though He was the King of the Jews.

No interruption. (It's 4 months later) Just type into Google "The Bible & Slavery" and you will be given an extensive list of Bible verses. The Jewish people were freed from bondage from the Egyptians, but slavery was permitted & condoned in general, and even by Jewish people as well. In fact, during America's Civil War in the 1860's, those same Bible verses were used to promote slavery in the South.

I think all this pointless hate that this vid has generated just proves how much GCN is needed. Nice job mate, this is an issue that needs to be discussed. It's also rather sad to see some people who want to class this as 'not important as' or 'unworthy of attention'. It seems to me that they're missing the point of P4A.

I'm a straight Christian who fully supports my LGBT brothers and sisters. Haters can rack off.
