ST. PAUL (Jan. 27, 2009) A presentation on "green collar" jobs and construction opportunities with free food and musical entertainment at Lao Family Community of Minnesota. The vision of H.I.R.E. Minnesota is to organize community members to help enable the creation of green jobs, expand green job training, secure commitments for business development and advocate for government investment in green collar initiatives so that communities of color are poised to be included in this emerging green economy. A diverse group of organizations comprise H.I.R.E., including EJAM, MN Baptist Convention, Stairstep, the Alliance for Metropolitan Stability, ISAIAH, Insight News, MN OIC State Council, Asian American Press, African American Men Project, Green Water Energy, LVY Investments, Women's Environmental Institute, Minnesota Multicultural Media Consortium, Catholic Charities Office for Social Justice, Will Steger Foundation, the Public Policy Project, MBTV, and Sabathani Community Center. Community members are encouraged to attend the next town hall meeting in Minneapolis on Tuesday, February 17th, 2009, at 6:30 p.m. at the Minneapolis American Indian Center of Minnesota (1530 E.
