"Taurus 1911" extreme low cost firearm

It is hard to expect the Taurus PT1911 to have the same fit and finish and precision of a Kimber Springfield RRA S&W Ed Brown Les Baer Wilson Comba, Sig or any other higher end 1911 pistol. But at around $650 it's very hard to beat. You can expect excellent accuracy and excellent reliability. The model shown, a PT1911 DT (duotone) is capable of small groups at 25 yards. This Gun will shoot with the best of any 1911's with practice and the right ammo. I have never had a misfire or jam and thats using my reloads, which are as follows

200 GRAIN ALLOY SEMI WADCUTTER PROJECTILES Taurus lists many extensive custom features which are standard in this 1911 and many useful features that enhance accuracy, ergonomics, reliability, and looks. Excellent features include full-length guide rod, Heinie Straight Eight sights 30 lpi checkering in all the right places, memory pad equipped grip safety polished feedramp and throat, scalloped ejection port, extended mag release, plus 1 included extra 8 round magazine. High end 1911s show superior fit, finish, and precision in the execution of these details. As such the Taurus PT1911 does not really rise to the quality level of other more expensive 1911s but look beyond the close up finish and take it to the range this is where the differance is really shortened as the small groups that you will shoot straight from the box are impressive. I have since polished the slide and barrel and the finish is amazing. Watch and make youe own mind up.
