Jay Gleason spotted recently test riding a Busa

Recent video of Jay Gleason, spotted at Immakolee Regional Raceway in Florida, September 2007, riding a few test & tune 1/8 mile passes on a 2001 Busa owned by Jeff Davis, Cape Coral Florida. Ferocious headwinds made for a crappy day of test riding, but Jay still managed to yank a 5.94 @ 118 MPG in 1/8 mile. Amateur footage shot by the bike's owner's friend; edited by mysticmama. Video shows Gleason still has the magic touch on the throttle. Time for him to make a test riding comeback. He's a little rusty, I remember watching him on many occasions at OCIR, TI or Irwindale, he'd peel off tire-floaters all day, he'd carry the front wheel on a Seca 750 or a Vmax just a couple inches off through first and second and rip a bike down the track. here he's a little lurchy, but if the cam had stayed with him all day he probably was back to his tire-floatin' self later on.

Like they say, it's like ridin' a bike or fallin' off a log.

I phoned this comment to jay, he says the reason it's all herky jerky is that the busa had a bad clutch head. Hard to launch. Still got good times despite the 40 mph headwind.

That's all the recent stuff I have. I do have 33 min. worth of video footage from his riding days in the 80s. Asking $10 donation for a copy of the DVD. Other than that, we'll try to get more video of any upcoming rides.

I do have more video of him....now that there is alot of buzz about the new 2009 Yamaha Vmax, I think I will try to put up some of his old Vmax dealer appearances/burnouts, stuff like that.
