CarLayouts is a collection of pre-configured vehicles to use with the Car object.

They come with collision-detection maps, mass-distribution geometry, shadow caster models, that we have already made for you from publicly available data of real cars.

Pre configured data include vehicle scaling, wheel positioning and size and some low-level physics parameters like friction factors and masses for individual parts.

All parameters can be fully configured to allow you to adapt a car-layout to specific implementations and custom 3d models, where needed.

Car layouts are great time-savers!

All you have to do is providing them a finished visual aspect by making 3d models your own or by using 3d models made by others and widely available on the Web.

We recommend to use the SkinMesh object to do so.

In this clip you can see a few examples of car layouts in action. Note how physics changes with vehicle properties.

  • Common mistake.. car physics everywhere has the vehicles acceleration way too fast. i see it everywhere. they gain speed too fast

  • You are right! Acceleration factor has been a bit exaggerated to make the movie funnier.

But you can set car physics paramtters to anything you like =)
