My review of the Das Keyboard Professional (with lettering) comparing it to Matias Tactile Pro.

NOTE-I no longer recommend this keyboard. This is a nice clicky keyboard but here a few negatives to be aware of:

-It is a total dust magnet because it has a high gloss finish. This means that it will look dusty most of the time and show fingerprints unless you wipe it with the included microfiber cloth.
-The lettering on the keys started to wear off after only a couple of months. A keyboard of this price should have very sturdy lettering on the keys, not crapped painted on ones that can be rubbed off.
- The keys started to look shiny from wear/usage after only a couple of months. I'm a normal typist, am not hard on keyboards, but I use them daily.
-This keyboard required two USB ports to be used on my computer in order to work correctly.

I like my original classic IBM Model M and Unicomp Customizer 104 keyboards (current new model based on the IBM Model M with buckling springs) much better as they feel much more sturdy and even nicer to type on all day. And they are way cheaper than the DAS keyboard. You can still find some of the old IBM Model M keyboards that the Unicomp is based on and use a PS2 to USB adapter-works great! In fact, many 'in the know' believe the old IBM Model M to be the best keyboard ever made.

  • why you put i dnt use this keyboard as note

    proffesionals even use this keyboard

  • @77asare Because I don't use it any more.

  • Laser etched keycaps do not wear out. Are you aware that in order to wear out the lettering on the keys you have to actually remove the material from the keycap 1st?

  • @Egamer2u They used to just paint the lettering on. I guess they have since changed that since this video.

  • i am considering this keyboard, but after you comment in the video "letters wear off after 2 months", i have to ask, how sweaty are your hands. sweat is fairly acidic and can wear on things over time. i dont mean any offence, but personally, my hands are very dry. if your keyboard is worn out from your hands' sweat, then it is negligible for me. please get back as soon as you can

  • @chaosrealm93 My hands don't sweat whatsoever.

  • ahhh, the clicks of the das are like thousands of small eargasms

  • @MyStuff774 i got mine in swedish layout

  • @phototristan why did you stop using it?

  • @killjoy791 - you can say dos as in MS DOS.

  • Can you get this keyboard in norwegian layout? So far I've only seen US layout

  • @redalf It doesn't use rubber domes, they're mechanical switches with springs inside :) Either alps or cherry key switches. Personally I prefer the "buckling spring" type that you get on the old IBM Model M keyboards, the M13 was a nice keyboard but it's really rare now - I just won a bid for one and had to cancel because paypal screwed up and wouldn't let me verify my card :( However Unicomp will make one for you (minus clit-mouse) with blank black keys!

  • @phototristan "The term laser marking is also used as a generic term covering a broad spectrum of surfacing techniques including printing"

I don't care what anybody tells you so called "laser etched" keys wear off. Look at every single review of the Steelseries 6gv2 they all say it wears out quick but its "laser etched" so what about that?

  • @Craptastic218 I'm canadian and his pronunciation makes me shudder
