jesus, all the time i was thinking to myself : that shit is gonna break. xD i prefer filing the heatsink down, even if it takes forever.
btw sick song, is it by carl cox?

@kaestar5 Thanks, that helps somewhat. I'd still prefer a video tutorial though.

@JaiNobesIsARat rub a little on the diode pins
tin your iron
tin your wires
set next to pin of diode and touch the WIRE with your iron
-
@kaestar5 So it's that easy?
Well then i'll pour a jar of flux over my diode and then use a million Watt soldering iron and hit it repeatedly. Break my solder into little tiny bits and then blindfold myself and violently hit the diode with the iron.
So, i refer you to my original statement "Can you make a video on how to solder diodes safely?" because the statement "use flux" does not do the job as well as a video.

@JaiNobesIsARat use flux :/

awesome tutorial! I'll defiantly be using it when I build my Pocket Mini. Currently I only own a PHR.
Do you know if there's also a guide on youtube showing the removal of the red diode in this sled?

Removal of the red is pretty similar to the violet. It looks a little different and doesn't have the "cube" on the front, but getting it out of the small heatsink can be done in the same way.
