  • thank youj(its hard to type with my guit around my neck!) You went slowly enough and step by step enough to understand and pick it up a section at a time-(as a tip to others, if you leave the mouse pointer stationary and carefully click it will rewind so to speak to that same point to go over each section till you got it.) Do you know Rain Song-if so please drop me a line if you record a lesson -you are a good teacher.

  • @guitarmangary55 I do know Rain Song and I've wanted to post it for over a year. Maybe I'll get to it soon. :)

    Yo!

  • I could be wrong, but I think the way Jimmy Page plays part where you're sliding from the 5th to the 7th fret to play the G,G,D,C is he lets all notes ring throughout. I have a copy of the song published in an old issue of Guitar for the Practicing Musician and this is the way they say to play it. To do that, you would not be able to bar the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th strings of the 7th fret. I mention this only to get your opinion on the matter. It's still a great lesson.

  • @je19662008 The only way to know for sure is to watch Jimmy play it, and even then he might play it differently then when he recorded it. The tuning is the key because it limits the 'possibilities' and forces you to look at the tune a certain way. This is my best guess, which I think is pretty darn close. :)

    Yo!

  • you got this down perfect, excellent lesson, easy to follow, not as hard as it sounds, one of the most beautiful guitar songs ever, next to the rain song, zeppelin forever

  • @thespecialist2100 I had planned on putting the Rain Song up as well. Hopefully within a few weeks...along with a few other vids. It's been awhile since I've posted anything. I need to hop to it!!!

    Yo!

  • Sweetm nice job

  • You're the Boss, Hoss. There are several people that have tried to teach this on youtube. Your's is by far the best teaching & so simple to understand. Thanks

  • I never thought I would learn to play the song but thank's to this video, I can play the song now. Lot's of thank's to you!!! =D

  • great job! but you shoul play at normal speed after explaining every lick!

  • Thanks man...been wanting to learn this song for a while now...now i got it completely down :)

  • Great tutorial, one little tid bit i'd like to add. When you get to the part where you refer to it as the "hardest" to play, instead of coming down to hit the 4th fret on the B string, just hit the open high E and you get the same note, which will allow you to play that whole part more fluidly.

  • Excellent

  • wow that was incredible, thanks so much, please do that lesson on the rain song!!
