Derrick Jensen spoke at Knox College April 25, 2008, three days after John Ashcroft spoke on the same stage.

The video is of rather poor quality. I forgot to reset all the settings after a strange theater project. It makes it look more ominous, though.

  • Whats your threshold? 99% of folks who hear Derrick may not have the mental software running in their heads to support his ideas and reality. I don't mean this as a put down. You have to be running the full blown version of software that supports the identity of yourself as a REAL human, and sadly, many can only understand the tip of what he says. Thank you so much Derrick, from my heart!

  • Yay!!!!! For Derrick Jensen!!!

Luckies who got to be there.

  • @mariojragucci you are making a BIG mistake

  • yeah, how about that?

John Ashcroft- a good and decent man who loves his country, and would fight to the death to defend the right of Oil Derrick to say whatever he wants, no matter how wrong or how foul.

  • All I heard was "My name is...(something, something, something)... should...(blah blah)" But from the answer he gave she said something like "My name is Hope. Why do you hate me?"

  • Did someone get what the woman asked??

  • I didn´t go to see Ashcroft, as if he would say anything new...I regret not being part of the protest during his speech...Derrick´s ideas are incredible and difficult to come to terms with more than anything. it´s difficult when you realize that everything you have known and everything you are, or have been taught to be, is part of such an awful system.

  • I was shattered at how much larger the turnout for John Ashcroft was than for Mr. Jensen.

  • Thanks for spreading Derrick's thoughts.

  • It'd be so nice if others in the Knox area would comment here, or talk about Derrick in general, or discuss his books, or ... anything! Yes, reading Derrick Jensen's work is very much like coming home, but surely not just for me.

  • Thank you Derrick, you are the best!
