This is an original instrumental that I recorded today. The melody has been kicking around in my head for the past few weeks. I just got a new recording set up, so I'm still figuring out how to use it.

I happen to be a horticulturist, so I set up a slide show of plant pictures I have taken recently.

Recording Software: Cubase LE4
Interface: PreSonus Firebox
Mic: Audio-Technica 2020
Guitar: Martin DC-1E
Bass: Washburn XB-400

  • I just listened to your song.

I really wanted to hear what the Martin sounded like because I just ordered one.

Sounds great when you play it. Keep up the good work.

  • Thanks! I'm afraid the recording doesn't do the tone of the guitar justice. Martin makes sweet guitars.; I'm sure you'll love yours. I highly recommend checking out Elixer Nanoweb strings.

  • I really enjoyed "First Light" , it's really a lovely tune. Hope to hear more songs from more you.

    Cheers,

    Scott

  • Thanks = )

  • I recorded this rather quickly before I had any idea how Cubase worked. The delay is from one of the tracks being bumped a fraction of a beat forward during the mixing process.

  • did you mean to have a delay in your recording or did you record the dry and the wet routed signal?
