http://www.Free.WebinarSecrets.net - As you probably know, Powerpoint has long been the preferred "presentation medium" for instructors and professional public speakers during live seminar events.

But when it comes to online presentations and webinars, there are a lot of things wrong with Powerpoint that make it a less than ideal solution.

If you've been attending or hosting webinars for awhile, I'm sure you've noticed that whenever a powerpoint presentation is uploaded and displayed, there are no fancy animations, no flying bullet points, no active hyperlinks, no embedded videos and no slide transitions etc.

Without getting into the technical reasons why this is so, you'll just have to accept the fact that Powerpoint was never intended for use online.

So why waste your time trying to put a square peg into a round hole?

I realized 10 years ago that the best way to get around these Powerpoint problems is by simply creating HTML pages that look like Powerpoint (e.g. big fonts, "slide" style design etc.). Then I create hyperlinks to advance to the next slide.

Here are just a few additional benefits of doing it this way:

- You can embed graphics without them getting distorted as Powerpoint does to ALL graphics.

- If your HTML presentations contain animated graphics (i.e. GIFs), you won't lose them during your presentation.

- You can easily embed videos into your HTML presentations.

- You can control the layout of the whole experience. For example, do you want it to be in a fixed width? A fluid width? To the right of the screen? Left of the screen?

- With an HTML slideshow, you can do updates on individual slides without having to re-upload the entire Powerpoint presentation.

Enjoy!

Hope to speak with you soon!

  • Good tips. You may also want to suggest using live on-camera video too.
