  • awesome advice.

  • From what I have seen in movies, I am not too bothered by ADR if it was at least done directly on loaction. What bothers me is if the ADR was recorded in a studio and the properties of the audio weren't matched to the scene location. Like if an actor was running for his life from a robotic rottweiler in the mountains, the suspense would be ruined if his screams sound like they were recorded in a vocal booth.

  • The Angry Filmmaker is speaking bibles of truth. Viewers will forgive a so-so picture or a soft focus on a few scenes, but bad audio they do not forgive. If you're audio is terrible no matter how cool visually the scene is most people tune out.
