Blackwater is a valuable asset to the US military operations, for they are ecenomic, cheaper than maintaing a standing force, and allows the US to focus their soldiers on military combat objectives while PMCs; such as (Xe)Blackwater; protect American interests and takes care of security.

Also, PMCs do not go chasing after the enemy like soldiers do. They are, by law, only allowed to deal with security, such as protecting assets, facilities, VIPs, property and the like.
