Try "The Soft Bulletin." Every great band has one of those albums that can never be remade, and "The Soft Bulletin" is one of those albums. Every single song on there is so heavy and complex both lyrically and sonically. The Flaming Lip's best album, and one of the best albums of the 20th century, I'd put "The Soft Bulletin" up against "Sgt. Peppers," "The Dark Side of the Moon," anything.

Great thing about the Flaming Lips is they're always switchin' the style up. Can't wait to hear what they come up with next

Same here. Yoshimi is indescribably beautiful, and composed in much more intriguing and heartfelt ways than the albums before or after it, I think.

“The Terror” is the only one that's come close to Yoshimi IMO.

    +1

Soft Bulletin is more like Rubber Soul or Revolver, the change is there, but not fully developed until Yoshimi Battles the Pink Robots.

(To me),the Soft Bulletin announced a change of format and sonic capabilities that they have continued in all later albums and were no where close in prior albums.Listening to the first couple albums and than the Soft Bulletin-light years away.
