InBeing violent? Hating non muslims? Beefing with your brothers? Not in Islam

(Responding to Dispatches : Lessons in hate and violence) The Creator of the Universe made us brothers and sisters in humanity and brothers and sisters of the religion. So we should NOT insult each other, fight each other, kill each other based on race, sex, age, ANYTHING. The very minimum that is expected of us as muslims, to show gratitude to Allah is to be nice with one another. But we should be the best people we can be to please our Lord and show the non muslims the beauty of Islam. This video is based on the lesson from Riyad us Saliheen by Imam An-Nawawi

Good video. My brother has recently become a muslim and always says how it is misunderstood as a religion. However on another closely related video someone had commented saying something about mohammed (pbuh) taking women as slaves and staeling 'booty' of some sort. Its probably nothing but i just wondered if you could clear up what its all about :S

As for the question, I'll answer with the little knowledge that I have, but I'm confident in it and I implore you to check it with a more knowledgeable historian of Islam (preferably a muslim one lol). The Prophet did indeed go to battle, and in many instances, to prevent the abuse of wealth, property or people he would appropriate them accordingly. Slavery in those days was a very different issue, slaves were more like servants, and their treatment...

@gibsonmadella ...their treatment had a lot of rules and regulations to protect them (i.e no racially based reasons for slavery, not allowed to hurt them, marry them whereever possible, free them wherever possible etc). If you look at modern war and recent history, in many instances, people are massacred and property destroyed and stolen. With Muhammad's (peace be upon him) system, societies would remain in tact and in many cases the people would flourish under his new governance.

its organization like al qaeda and hezbollah which are distorting the very image of islam. I myself converted to islam because everything its crystal clear in islam. its very close to scientific believes too. insha allah!!

the world needs closed minded people. if you think growing a beard and wearing a silly hat makes you a better person then i must be a sinner! i don't follow any religion yet i haven't committed a so called sin in years. religion is brainwash. live according to how the world works at the time. yeah maybe i'd have believed the prophet muhammad 3000 years ago, but were in the 21st century. nuff said.

@MrSimon310189 Hi. Actually the world is desperately in NEED of open minded people. We never said growing a beard is a prerequisite for being a good person, but we DO say that we should show more respect to one another; this is part of our way of life Islam. Please have a watch of the video and listen to what the brother says at the beginning, those are actual words from the Quran. And even today that same book reveals scientific miracles, plenty reason to 'maybe' believe in Islam today :) peace

After that day, my life became hell in that building. I was chased by all Muslims who lived there, me and my flatmates. Needless to say, soon after I moved. Until today I panic when I see someone with burqa.

@AlhamdulillahAkhi The guy cursed me until the last generation (I understand the part in English of course). said it was absurd that women are talking to a tramp, looking the way I was wearing (detail, was at home in jeans and shirt with the heating on) and who knocked on my door they were. The guy even disdained Christmas and Jesus. Not that I'm the most religious person in the world, but for what reason we have to respect your God, if you can not respect our (not found the mark)
