@Duncanbuzz That's one of my favorite paitings of Alan Bean's, I believe it's intitled "What am I doing here?" but could be very wrong about that. I met him at an art lecture and show and he was the kindest man, even gave me a hug for driving 600 miles to see him! I'd do it again in a heartbeat! I own a print but dream of owning an original. How he paints is just so amazing with space dust and boot imprints, etc. Loved how he and the crew were best friends! RIP Pete, we miss you on earth!

I was in the Air and Space Museum in DC on January 12 and saw Bean's "Painting Apollo" exhibition. Marvellous.

Al Bean is Mr. Personality Plus!
He is a brilliant artist, as well as engineer and Astronaut! A UT Longhorn, too!

Is it true Bean is a bit of a joker, always ready for a laugh? I've seen that in a few photos.

"Al Bean, you are goin' to the MOON!"
"Y'all can come along if ya like! Hoo-hoo-hoooo!"

Apollo 12 was my favorite episode in From Earth to the Moon.

Yes he is. I talked to him last summer at the rocket park dedication.
His staff people came to whisk him off to the next meeting and he blew me a kiss as he left.
Bean is a national treasure!

I've met Captain Bean and found him to be an amazing man, artist and speaker. I would love to have the opportunity again. I drove 800 miles to see his lecture and art show, worth ever mile!

al is a nice man!!
Al Bean is such a fantastic guy. I met him at Autographica 10 last month and he couldn't have been nicer. The Apollo 12 crew were all great buddies, and Alan Bean (now a professional artist) demonstrated this when he painted all three of them on the Moon because he wished that CMP Dick Gordon could have shared the experience of being there with him and Pete Conrad in reality.

Jack Schmitt would beg to differ.
"You've seen one Earth, you've seen them all."
He was there for the rocks. Lol.
