Valve trombone sucks..why would you get that one instead of a classic slide trombone? And it don't even sound like a trombone

practice more.

@jjwarrior66 No, valve trombones have a slightly different sound. When you add in all those extra curves in the tubing, it starts to sound more like a trombonium or euphonium than the brightness of a trombone.

@turbojosh3285 give a valve trombone to a trumpet player teach him a note or 2 and pow u have a trombone player other than teaching a whole lotta slide position and also u can play so much faster on it but your totally right about the sound but euphoniums sound way better :)

@spicycheesepants Trombones produce a different sound to a euphonium, valves offer a different range of techniques to produce different sounds a normal slide trombone could not. That is why people play valve trombones. You also have the Holton Superbone which combines the slide and valve trombones.

I don't understand the point of have a valve trombone. If people wanted to play a valve instrument, they could've chosen euphonium. If they wanted to play the only instrument that really mattered, they would play a slide trombone. Why are these monstrosities even in existence?
