In fact, in a recent interview in the Guardian, Ramsey said that he's moving in the direction of a kinder, gentler TV persona because he thinks audiences have grown weary of the "bully chef" character, and he's getting a little tired of it himself. @lordrampage You have to realize that on shows like "Hell's Kitchen", Gordon Ramsey is essentially playing an exaggerated version of himself. People are surprised how nice he can be in real life, just like with Simon Cowell. They're both playing to an audience. Yes, Gordon has a quick temper in the kitchen, yes he swears like a sailor, but if he were THAT nasty to all his employees all the time, his staff turnover rate would be so high he'd never get a restaurant off the ground.
