@PA1NK1LLER I will have to finish that book one of these days! I worked in a bookstore and always read bits and pieces of it. I knew that he shot someone on patrol, I recall reading it somewhere but I feel as if the POW rumor was (at least by Speirs himself) unconfirmed. Not that Maj. Winters has passed (RIP) I really should get around to finishing his book.

@xXSgtWolfXx I do remember that scene but I also remember the scene in Carentan in which Malarkey informs Muck, Penkala, More, and Blithe that he "didn't actually see it" and that they only thing he saw Speirs do was take out that one gun by himself on D-Day.

@btp248 Actually, the rumors that were told about throughout the series were true! Speirs did kill one of his own men for refusing to go on patrol cuz he was drunk. He also shot those German POWs that were under guard in Normandy. How do I know this? Well, In Dick Winters book, The Biggest Brother, he goes on to address the rumor issues that circulated through the units about Speirs and Dick confirms each rumor. I highly recomend that book if ur a B.O.B. fan!
