With the one drilled into the desk, couldn't a thief just unscrew it from the desk....?

'm actually going to get this with the optional base. But I'm also going to get a kryptonite chain lock; and a bottle of epoxy glue. When I lock in my laptop to the locking station, I will use the U-Lock around the neck of the locking station. Then I will also lock the U-lock with one end of the chain. The other end of the chain will obviously be chained to something unmovable. I will then permanently destroy access to the screws by filling the screw holes with epoxy cement

KensingtonTechnology i need this in moscow :( help me :(
cant they pick the lock? I mean, professional lockpicks managed to pick medeco's "bump-proof" locks, what makes this any harder.

From Kensington - All locks can eventually be picked, the locking mechanism used in the Laptop Locking Station uses a disc style lock, which is known in the industry as one of the toughest to pick, even for professional lock picks. Our estimation is that attempting to pick this lock will take so long, that the thief will be discovered long before they are successful in picking the lock.

What's to stop a thief prying the tops off the screws and unscrewing it? Or yanking those poxy screws straight out of the desk?

From Kensington, if you have the screw covers on you need a drill to be able to get them out. It will take a long time to drill them out, then remove all 4 screws [could use non-reversible screws to prevent removing the base unit] to take your laptop and the Laptop Locking Station, the Laptop that is stolen will still have the locked Laptop Locking Station locked on it and it will be a challenge for them to get that removed.
