Detroit Tigers RHP Max Scherzer (vs. Dodgers)

Scherzer (6'3" 220lbs. St. Louis, MO) warms up prior to starting the second game of a three-game Interleague series against the Los Angeles Dodgers. Scherzer had trouble controlling the strike zone for much of his start, with a nearly even strike/ball ratio through the first few innings. However, he appeared to get good separation between his fastball and offspeed pitches, topping out at 99 mph with his fastball (on the stadium radar gun), that sat in the mid 90s. His slider was in the mid-80s.
