In this video I demonstrate how I administer vaccines to puppies. There is a very slim chance that a dog could be allergic to the vaccine, so I keep epinephrine and benadryl on hand just in case there is a problem. I have given vaccines to dogs, cats, goats, sheep, cattle, horses, swine and poultry for a great number of years and have never seen an allergic reaction, but the possibility is there.

Disclaimer: I am not a veterinarian. This video does not contain veterinary advice. I am simply showing you how I vaccinate my dogs. If you choose to vaccinate your dogs, I am not responsible for the results.

Answers to some questions that i expect:

The puppies are Jack-A-Poo which is a cross of Jack Russell Terrier & Tiny Toy Poodle. They are 6 weeks old.

The adult dog at the end of the video is not a parent of the puppies. She is Affen-Poo which is a cross of Affenpinscher and Toy Poodle. If you do not know what an Affenpinscher is, you can find photos easily with a Google search.

I purchased the vaccine shown in the video at Tractor Supply Co. for $4.99 on sale, the regular price is $6.49

  • @americangamefowl Is there any angle you have to inject the shot?

shot the vaccine upwards or shot the vaccine downwards?

    If you could replay asap

    Thanks

  • @David363170 No particular angle/direction, just be sure you inject between the skin & muscle, not in the muscle itself.

  • thats like me gettin a shot except for the acting like nothin happened part

  • @frodo70444 I literally laughed out loud when I saw your comment. *knuckle bump*

  • Ooohh hard to watch before but very cool the pain doesnt last long. Thanks for showing this. It just goes to show you we don't need experts for everything.

  • @preparedchipmunk It is hard to hear them cry. The consolation is that they feel the same pain if the veterinarian gives the injection, and it's over in seconds. The vaccines are definitely worthwhile I have seen puppies with parvo virus and corona virus & it is a sad thing to see.

  • We do all our own shots. I think puppies just whine because you're holding them still LOL...

Some states do allow for you to buy rabies and give them, not many. Note on rabies, they don't make the one year vaccine anymore, just the three year. So, if stuff hits the fan you know they are good for 3 years. Your state may require annual shots though. Mine is 2 years.

  • Thanks for the info.

  • Thank you, great info for MY puppies!
