@ROISL45 comparing grapes to grapefuit, here is the 243cal. loaded with H-414 powder, 55gr. bullet =4080 fps ,,same bullet weight as your 223/5.56x45mm nato round. What would be the energy be at 300 yrds for both rounds ?

A girls gun, a pea shooter,, my 243cal. 700 var. Remington has been called worse. Heather come shoot my girly gun, it's got a long thick glass bedded barrel lying under a 6-24 power scope, super tuned hand loads, and it sets on a Harris Bipod. Grdhogs are waveing the white flag of surrender when I step onto the field. ;-) Great videos Heather, I do enjoy!

The 243 is a girl gun???

I shoot lots of big bore rifles and have a sweet little 243 varmit rifle. Oh, well I like shooting a 243 girl gun and I like shooting 12 Ga slugs and a 416 Rem Mag too.

Just a reminder to all the people that think a .243 is weak, It's a necked down .308.

here are some numbers comparing it to the popular 223, IE, AR15 round.

.223 - 55 grain bullet Muzzle velocity, 3240 fps,, Muzzle energy. 1210 ft lbs.

.243 - 90 grain bullet Muzzle velocity, 3300 fps., Muzzle energy , 2177 ft lbs

I love my .243 Remington my has a clip on it and is a youth model since i am only 12 shot it for the first time yesterday and i love it..............

Anyone else notice this is recoiling a bit too much for a .243??? It looks more like a .30 in recoil! Maybe hot 'n heavy loads?
