@Sdrumer15 he didin't like the band's new disco style so he decided to leave. The relationship between the members was too bad, there were two sides in the band: paul and gene, ace and peter. That's the reason they decided to record the solos, to fix the situation but it was late, the damage was done. Are you a real Kiss fan? Don't you know the real story about the band?

The overwhelming majority of the greatest rockers of all time abused drugs and alcohol and still kicked ass. Peter got pissed that Gene and Paul were shamelessly hijacking more creative control of the band's material and as a result, stopped caring and stopped trying. Ace was just as pissed too and ended up leaving on his own later on for the same reason. Peter wasn't THAT out of control with his substance abuse. It was all in the timing. This was premeditated.
