The water was crystal clear today visibility was 75' easy. The mangroves were everywhere but before I had a chance to shoot one I chased this black around for 15 minutes before I could get off a shot. My first shot was a desperation shot I was beat and he was about to be out of there but luckily I blew out his stomach and he finally rocked up. Hope you enjoy.

  • @ Jfar because there was a tangle in the line and it was the quickest way to release it.

    @Zulu Miami, Florida

  • hey 5* easily but did u have an oxygen tank because u said u chased him around 15 min just curious

  • No tank had to surface and keep following till he rocked up.

  • @ImDBC dude i know that I'm not retarded but i just needed to know what its was off of

  • @1breather Clearly off a boat lol

  • almost didn't get him there at all!!!

  • nicely done!

  • hey bro i live in miami what beach or building or even road is this off of (if you went off the beach)

  • u had to hit the first grouper at 1:31 killershot

  • lol i love how at the very first u aim the spear gun right at his head

  • @joshualee12341

    i agree with you. the times i come down vertical is when grouper is holed up and pokes his head out occasionally, so then i come from above and shoot the head if possible. when swimming free, i try to keep them calm, not giving chase where they scurry everywhree and get nervous and slowly approach/wait for them.

  • You guys are professionals so I'm not trying to claim I'm a "guru" of spearfishing, but I noticed you dove straight down on that grouper...that's a definite incentive for him to bolt in my experience.

    I get a lot more success if I dive down 10-15ft and approach from the bottom:

    1) Makes your behaviour less predatory 2) U Get a better angle to shoot from 3) If you approach slowly and indirect - curious reefies like grouper, mutton and cubera will swim towards U!! What r your thoughts?
