@auroraron Yep, batteries, inverters, solar and wind. You'd only really need your genset for large consumption items such as washing machines, dryers, vacuum cleaners, etc.

10,000 hours? How could you live off the grid with this thing? You would have to replace it every year.

@CainmosniMirrored 10,000 hour service life is normal. Can you drive your car 10,000 hours at 1800 RPM 60 miles an hour? That's 600,000 miles of driving. Not bad for a 3 cylinder diesel. Many who live off grid don't run generators 24/7 They charge batteries or use solar in the day time however we do have customers using them full time 24/7 with thousands of hours on them. :-)
