Why I Hunt - Part Two

Most folks new to the concept of hunting are unfamiliar with the link between hunters and their passion for waterfowl and wildlife conservation. They are often unaware that wildlife conservation groups across North America were founded and built by hunters. It was those hunters that were bound and determined to give back what they had taken from Mother Nature. Its important to teach new hunters the fundaments of hunting (gun safety, ethics, calling and decoys), but its also essential that they understand our connection to conservation, and the importance of giving back.

So, what drives you out of bed at 5:00am? Is it to watch the bird activity and the sunrise? Is it bonding time with friends and family? Perhaps its to watch your dog retrieve, or the thought of a tasty mallard roasting in your oven? If any or all of the above sparked your interest, I suppose the next question is, are you fulfilling your responsibility as a hunter, and what are you doing to give back? These are the questions we ask all brand new hunters of all ages that come out to experience first hand what duck hunting is all about!

@acavideo you are very wrong in many areas... us hunters care about the populations and wildlife more than anyone... and i guarantee that. i love them more than anything and i devote hundreds of hours with other hunters to help ducks populations reach their prime population... I strongly doubt you wake up at 4:00 a.m. and help find hens nests and make sure they do not get destroyed by predators, buy property to put refuges, and build wood duck boxes. Help out by doing your part, give your time.

Great video! I'm a woman and a hunter, and for a while my brother was very annoyed by the fact that I wanted to hunt. Thankfully, my dad was thrilled and now I'm proud to say I'm a woman and a hunter.

Excellent program in so many ways. Kudos to you all for providing access to good, respected and true hunting knowledge. As a hunter, I too understand how important a good mentor truly is. Awesome!

@acavideo 100% agreed...It's just a pathetic scapegoat! Too many humans, let's go around and shoot them.They were here 1st! Oh, you have more than 2 kids - BLAM, let's shoot them - population control! People killing defenseless animals that are minding their own business is mind boggling to me. "Hitting birds and feeling better about yourself". Are you serious??? You keep saying it's for "conservation"... I watched both videos - You have NOT made the connection. I honestly gave it a shot to "learn" something... But your pitch is just rhetoric - No facts about "preserving" water foul. Lots of "favorite" things and activities - But no fundamental principle besides just pleasure???
