Beirut Shooting 05/08/08

I saw this on CNN today and couldn't stop thinking about it. So I got a screencap of it off the cnn website and posted it on youtube.

This is a video of a gun battle between Hezbollah and pro-government gunmen in the streets of Beirut.

Look at the boy's face when he is running towards the man. It seems like he thinks they are playing some sort of game at first, he is even laughing. Then look at his reaction when the explosion/gunfire breaks out.

It seems as if all his innocence is taken away from him in just one terrifying moment...

It is easy to forget that these things are going on around the world. This video was part of a 2-minute segment on cnn today and after airing it they went straight back to covering the Clinton/Obama primaries...FOR 2 HOURS!!!

Believe me you have no idea what these people are going through from the comforts of your room in front of your computer screen. What your reaction is here, watching it, and what it would be if it was actually happening to you are two very different beasts. You should at least have the common sense to realize you're fooling no one but yourself here. Heck, you can't even handle being rejected by Lebanese girls without whining about it on here.

Ok, I thought the world was unfair because it gives us too much tsunamis and natural disasters, but every minute passing I realize more and more that we do much more harm to ourselves than what nature does. Down with every single political and religious group that risks people's lives.
