Court evacuated as fathers 4 justice stage Bristol protest

13 June 2008

Dozens of staff were evacuated from a family court in a Fathers 4
Justice protest in Bristol.

The group stormed the building and a fire alarm was set off.

Court and construction staff huddled outside Bristol County Court, in
the high-rise Greyfriars building in the city centre, and waited for
the fire service to arrive.

Around 30 banner-waving protesters dressed as various superheroes
stopped at the courts during a street demonstration through Bristol
in support of fathers' rights.

Around 10 protesters dressed as Spiderman, Batman, Superman and The
Incredibles forced their way into the court and chanted "What do we
want? Justice. When do we want it? Now."

A fire alarm was activated, although court staff could not confirm
who was responsible, and nearly 100 staff flooded into the street
outside.

Two police vans arrived, along with two fire engines, and the men
soon left thecourt building and continued their march.

The demonstration was joined by two campaigners who scaled the roof
of deputy Labour leader Harriet Harman's home in Herne Hill, south
London, earlier this week.

Jolly Stanesby and Mark Harris, both from south Devon, started the
roof top protest on Sunday and continued for more than 24 hours. They
have since been bailed by police.

Long-time Bristol member of F4J, Jeff Skinner, of Staple Hill,
said: "We decided not to get any bad publicity and felt we shouldn't
push our luck today.

"We went to HSBC bank because they coollect money for the CSA and
that was our chance to highlight we will target companies who are
involved with them and profit from the CSA."

The Father's Day march around the city included a stop at Park Row
where the protesters unveiled a large poster on an advertising
hoarding, complete with the words 'If those little superhero doesn?t
see his daddy on father?s day, he doesn't see half of his family'.

The march, led by F4J founder Matt O?Connor, ended with a minute's
silence for the dads who would not be seeing their children on Sunday
for Father's Day.

Today's Bristol Fathers 4 Justice protest was the latest in the
series of stunts.

jails any day of the Week. Many, Like Wilbur

Streett, Bob Berg, Dr. John Brooks have died BECAUSE of "Family,Juvenile" and Divorce Court. Good Work Spiderman, Jolly & Mike.

  • You are the "fooking idiot". Its people like you have no sense of substance to tackle such injustice and inequality. I could indeed, imagine that the members do not wish to dress up as superheroes, but however, they are subsequently forced to; predominantly due to the utter shear lack of recognition the government are taking on this issue.

  • Equality and justice is not a gift to be granted ,but a right for all.

The D[SHONOURABLE and UNJUST family court is a hoar house of injustice and discrimination ,where those that make, uphold, and service the orgy of discrimanition against fathers and the fathers side of the family, have more in common with pigs pn a feeding frenzie, than honourable men and woman who truely believe in equality and justice!

Men are second class citizens in Harmens Britian!!.

    The mary poppins Syndrome!!

  • More of this please !!

  • What a load of fooking idiots they are.

  • WELL DONE BATMAN!!!

This is a message to the Government and judiciary.

    1. HAVE AN AUTOMATIC PRESUMPTION OF 50/50 CONTACT WHEN PARENTS SPLIT

2.OPEN COURTS, to be brought in line with the crown and magistrates courts.

3.COMPULSORY MEDIATION BEFORE THE COURT PROCESS

4.ENFORCE COURT ORDERS. A 3 strikes and your're out policy would be a great detterent against uncooperative mothers. On the 3 rd strike , residence would be swopped to the father or whoever has deliberately broken the court order.
