  • I can't drive by that site without thinking of that contest. You guys really went all the way on that one. Very impressive. That whole area is still in such a state of flux, but it's starting to get developed.

  • that's NQ1F, Steve on the far left, and John, WN9T in the background, working the contest station. i can't believe my work glasses! i've forgotten why i was wearing those at the time.

  • I am the engineer that was responsible for WILD at the time of these contests, and I moved WILD to the WXKS-AM site a few years ago. The transmitter at the new site is a Harris DAX-6.

    The old BE transmitter that was at WILD is now in Pennsylvania, as the main transmitter for an Alex Langer property.

  • Thanks Scott! You know none of this is there any longer, they're diplexed with WXKS AM running, I think, the same BE transmitter that was there in later years, the AM5 or 5A.
