From Josh Ritter's concert at The Fillmore in San Francisco on June 24, 2010, surprise special guest Joan Baez is welcomed to the stage to perform "500 Miles" with Josh. She then reads the Edgar Allan Poe poem "Annabelle Lee" - which is an introduction to Josh Ritter's new song "Another New World" (not in video).

Was great to see Josh sing this with his wife at the gig in Nottingham England a couple of months back. Cool song! And Joanie does it well too :)

Absolutely wonderful. I love them both. So nice to hear the audience give the legend, Joan Baez, her rightful appreciation.

@fixapony Yeah, we both missed it by one night (and nearly 500 miles)! How apropos! I love Josh's introduction of poetry into the concert setting - which he does often in Ireland. Unfortunately I guess he realizes that the LA audiences might not be as appreciative. :-{

Doug, this is awesome! Joan Baez was the first real concert I went to, Radio City Music Hall around 1970 or 1971.

I was there celebrating my birthday - it was a magical night. Thanks much to Josh & Joan, and to Doug for the video.

How great to hear that audience explode with cheers. Having been to Josh Ritter concerts, he builds a huge warmth and optimism in the air. Though its harder to get higher, the gift to the audience of sharing the stage with such a great name put the atmosphere in the stratosphere. Loved it. Thanks.
