Born in Glasgow, Scotland, and growing up in Toronto, Canada, Lawrence Gowan earned a degree in Classical Piano from The Royal Conservatory Of Music at the age of 19. He had his first big solo success in Canada in 1985 with his STRANGE ANIMAL LP released under the name GOWAN, and featuring his biggest hit, A CRIMINAL MIND, winning a JUNO Award. He continued his solo career all through the 90's, and in 1999 was asked to join STYX!! You can see ALL his solo music videos, as well as my current LIVE video all right here on GowanWorld!!

I had a crush on Gowan in my teens and he still was cute when he was on cribs a few years back on MTV. awesome fave song and now have my little 7 year old addicted and singing it all the time
