BRIGITTE UTTAR KORNETZKY und MagpieDreamPictures:
Shot in the wake of Blood Diamond, THE VISIT explores the kaleidoscopic, infernal story of Sierra Leone. It is a strong film about strong people..
A lively rural village near the eastern border with Guinée, Koinadugu Sucruala. We testify the exuberant welcome by villagers. It seems unharmed by the rebels. Our visit evokes a continuous wave of dance and song. In a glimpse, we imagine a renaissance, a redemption -- a healthy Africa.

With no common language, the camera replaces the tongue. For the first time, the villagers can see themselves, in the camera monitor. It amazes them. "Can they see our world behind the lens?" the narrator muses.
