It's the second week 'proper' of my bivving up and we start on the bar with high expectations!
I have my chest waders with me and I get out on the back of the bar for a good raking session. Baiting up with 'The seeds of the gods' and the 'The Goodness' I have every confidence that the feast I have laid out on my meticulously prepared 'table' will get the right response!
However, there is a fatal floor in my plan!
I have been spotted and I am already the target of a much, much greedier foe than the carp!

  • i know you had runners runnig past, but dogs are so damn enoying on my fishery i had to point this out. once a dog ran up to use knocking tackle and stuff all over the place. one of the oweners apologised, but when my mate mumbled to himslef "this is why it says dogs on leads" the man then replied "well i have been ifshing here for 20 years and it dosent say that anywhere" but there was a sign a few meters away from where we were fishing! does anyone els have this problem?

  • Thankfully runners and dog walkers are now prevented from coming onto the woolpack fishery

Some people are selfish mate and just need to be told so.

  • hi there mate

i was just wondering what you think about how much you need to spod in say the warmer summer months, i fish at a moderately hard water in somerset where the fish are up in the water in the summer, do you reckon there is much point spodding over a popped up bait or weather a Pva would do the trick, thanks ever so much, i look forward to hearing from you

  • Is it a method that is used succesfully there?

It is an accepted method and has been found to catch carp that are up in the water.

My only reservation is that 'zig rigs' do tend to foul hook an awful lot of carp so i do not use them.

  • which bait u use for carp

  • My own baits avaialble from my website ect in two weeks!

  • what camera do you use pal:)?

  • Great videos, I've been fishing for 8 years now and I'll be doing my first carp session next weekend.

  • I had a dog come up to me on one of the lakes I go on it was looking through my bait box stealling bollies pissed on my bloody rod and the owner just stared and did no such thing luckly it left before I throttled the god dam thing

  • I think you should get a cap gun that would scare them away but ya might look a little silly holding it though

  • i know that birds can be anoying when trying to carp fish, but last week i went fishing for carp and couldent be bother to dessemble my rod so i left it all rigged up with a boiley and a peice of plastic corn on. i just looked at it and all that is left of the boiley are a few crumbs underneath the rod lol. hmmm i wonder what has eaten it i might set a trap and see.......

  • lol yes your right:)
