I want to do film/theater/Broadway as well, and though I'm young, I get this ALL the time from my siblings, my dad, even my STEP siblings. I used to get upset when I was younger, but now when they say "It's not realistic.", I just say, "Shut UP. I can and I WILL do this."

I'll be a ballet major next year, and people always ask me what my backup is. They expect it to be something super sensible, like nursing. Hahahahaha. No.

My backup is paleoneuroendocrinology, but you might want to try "TV and Film" as a backup to "Film and TV." My grandfather was a photographer/cinematographer who became a top producer of commercials for Y & R (much like Mad Men) in the early days of TV through hard work. If he could so can you.

I agree!! I want to be a professional singer, and wow I used to get A LOT of crap about it. Not anymore :B people realized I actually can do something out of myself? but shit it bothered me so much when people used to be like YOU NEED A BACKUP!
